The committee look after the on-going running of the club. They are elected at the AGM at the end of each academic year, and meet regularly to discuss all things Kent Equestrian.

Emma Role on the committee: Hello! My name is Celia and I have been part of the club, as an A Team member for three years throughout my undergrad, as well as being Team Captain last year! As President I work closely with the committee to oversee the general running of the club, with the aim to make it as successful as possible. I organise things such as sponsorship, kit orders and varsity. Whilst we, the committee run the club, we want your input to ensure that you're getting the most from the club. If you have any questions or ideas, however small, send them my way and I'll do my best to help! | Joined club: September 2010 | Course: MSc Applied Behavioural Analysis (3rd year)

Lilly-Mae Role on the committee: Hi, my name is Charlotte and I joined the club at the start of my first year in 2011. Last year I was a social secretary, and have ridden on the Varsity team for the past two years. This year as Secretary I'm in charge of booking and organising your rides every week - you can find me in the Red Room (in Keynes College next to Kbar and opposite Dolche Vita) on Mondays between 1-3:30pm. ! | Joined club: September 2011 | Course: Psychology (3Rd year)

Emily Role on the committee: Hi, I’m Emily, your treasurer for this year. I’m a third year student studying business and marketing and the second I saw the equestrian club during my first freshers fayre I signed up. I’ve been on teams for 2 years and I was also last year’s treasurer. My role on the committee is to organise and keep track of all the clubs finances. I want a lot more input from everyone at the club this year to make sure we are all happy with how we are spending our budget to try and make it go further. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. | Joined club: September 2011 | Course: Marketing and Business Administration (3rd year)

Iida Role on the committee: Hey, I’m Iida, your Team Captain 2013/14. I just finished my undergrad degree at Kent in English Language and Linguistics, and will be starting my Masters course in Linguistics in September. I’ve been a member of the Equestrian club, and the BUCS teams since I started uni, and even made it to the Nationals one year! Together with my Vice Captain Laura and Trenley Park’s Andrew and Virginia I’ll be making sure that we have fantastic teams again this year. Outside of all the fun horsey stuff, I like cocktails, gigs and yummy food. Anything teams/BUCS related, I’m your guy (or girl, really)  | Joined club: September 2010 | Course: Linguistics (4th year)

Laura Role on the committee: Hello, my name is Laura Hackett and I am the Vice Captain. I am in my third year studying History. I have been a member of the club for a year and was on the B Team which made it through to the Regional finals last season. I help support Iida with the smooth running of competitions, both BUCS and Varsity. I also maintain the club website. | Joined club: September 2012 | Course: History (3rd year)

Role on the committee: Our role as social secretaries is to organise and run both horse related and non-horsey events for all club members to get involved in and enjoy.

Horsey socials include beach rides and pub hacks, and a trip to Olympia: The London International Horse Show in December. There is also the opportunity to get involved with the local RDA group Cobbes Meadow either through volunteering or fundraising. Last year 12 members raised £742 by making a saucy 'Horse and Lace' calendar which was a fantastic success.

For when you've put away your riding hat and jods, we have regular 'going out' socials planned from fancy dress themed nights to our own night at the Venue to annual events such as the Colours Ball. Thanks to our sponsorship with Student Republic this year equestrian club members are given a 'PlayPass' which allows for queue jumps, discounted or even free entry at certain venues as well as offering lots of other discounts around Canterbury. So less queuing, more money and partying! If going out clubbing is not your thing there are still plenty of other opportunities to socialise including meals out, barbeques, pub trips and film nights. At the end of the year we hold our very own Awards Evening, with rosettes being presented for anything from 'Most Improved Rider' to 'Most Elegant Fall'!

Maddie I'm Emily Martin, I’m 20 years old and currently in my 3rd year studying English language and History. I joined the club in my first year and had never had a riding lesson before in my life but always been passionate about horses so think I am a good example of how you don't need to be an excellent rider to join! My role involves organising a variety of socials to ensure everyone is having fun and getting to know each other! I am also responsible for organising a number of charity events throughout the academic year in order to raise money for our local RDA. ! | Joined club: September 2010 | Course: Law (3rd year)

Kate My name is Kate Gregory I'm a third year history student and have been part of the equestrian club since I came to Kent. I have been riding for about 10 years and was delighted to find such a fun and friendly group of horsey people. As social and charities secretary my job it to help every get to know each other and have fun. We aim to celebrate the achievements of both team and non-team riders as well as raise money throughout the year for the RDA. I am also the club's safety officer and am first aid trained, as much as I hope you don't need me in this capacity I will be around just in case. I'm excited to meet all our new members and look forward to our introduction social in September! | Joined club: September 20xx | Course: ( year)
